Where2
Terms of Use
Last updated 3 November 2026
The short version
- Where2 helps you plan outings. You need to be 18 or older to have an account.
- Plans are suggestions built from information we gather and check. Opening hours, prices and menus can change, so confirm anything that matters with the venue, especially allergies and access needs.
- Your photos, journal entries and plans stay yours. We only use them to run the app for you and the people you share them with.
- Be decent: no abuse, no misuse of invite links, no scraping, no pretending to be a venue or another person.
- Where2 is free to use at launch. If paid features come later, we'll say clearly what they cost before you pay anything.
- Australian Consumer Law applies and nothing here takes away rights you have under it.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Where2 is an outing-planning app and website made in Australia. In these terms, “Where2”, “we” and “us” means [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], ABN [ABN]. These terms apply to the Where2 app, the website at wheretooapp.com (including invite, voting and storybook pages) and any related services. By creating an account or using Where2 you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and forms part of these terms.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to create an account. We ask you to confirm this when you sign up.
- Keep your sign-in method (email, phone, Apple, Google or Facebook) secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account unless it's caused by our failure.
- Give us accurate details and keep them current. One person, one account.
- You can delete your account from the Me screen at any time. See section 11 for what happens then.
3. What Where2 does, and doesn't
Where2 suggests plans: a sequence of places and activities around the time, place, people and budget you tell us about. We build these from venue information we gather and check, from the opening hours and details venues publish, and from what you've told us. We work hard to keep it accurate, but:
- Plans are suggestions. Opening hours, prices, menus, bookings, accessibility and availability can change without notice. Check anything that matters with the venue before you go, and book where booking is recommended.
- Dietary and access needs. Where Where2 says a venue has confirmed an option (for example vegetarian or step-free entry), that is the best information we have, not a guarantee. If you have an allergy or an access need, confirm it with the venue directly. Where we say something is “not confirmed”, treat it as unknown.
- Weather, travel times and costs shown in the app are estimates.
- We don't take bookings, sell tickets or take payments on behalf of venues. Any booking you make is between you and the venue.
- Where2 may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance or reasons outside our control, and features may change as we develop the app.
4. Your content
Photos, journal entries, ratings, reviews, plan names and anything else you add are yours. You give us a licence to store, process, display and transmit that content only as needed to run Where2 for you and for the people you choose to share it with (for example guests on a plan, or anyone you send a storybook link to). That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in routine backups, which are removed on their usual cycle.
Only add content you have the right to share. Don't upload photos of people who would object, and remember that a storybook link can be opened by anyone who has it. Reviews and ratings should be honest and about your own experience. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
5. Invite links, voting and guests
- When you invite people to a plan, each guest gets a private link. The link shows them the plan (addresses may be hidden until they confirm, if you choose) and lets them reply, suggest another time or vote on options. Guests don't need an account.
- Share links only with the people they're for. You can reissue or revoke a link at any time from the plan.
- If you're a guest, the host decides the plan. Replies and votes you give are shown to the host and, if the host allows it, your first name is shown to other guests.
- Links expire after the plan is over.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Where2 to:
- harass, threaten, impersonate or deceive anyone, or share content that is unlawful, hateful, sexual, or that exposes someone's private information;
- pretend to be a venue, post fake reviews, or try to influence how places are ranked (nobody can pay to rank higher, and attempts to game it are removed);
- scrape, copy or redistribute venue data, or access the service by any means other than the app and website;
- probe, overload or interfere with the service, other people's accounts or invite links;
- use Where2 for anything commercial without our written agreement (venues: see section 7).
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
7. Venues and third parties
Venues and activities appear in Where2 because they're good places to go, not because they've paid. Where we later offer venues promotions (such as celebration offers), those will be marked as promoted in the app. Maps, directions, calendar entries and weather come from third-party services under their own terms. Links to venue websites and booking pages take you to sites we don't control.
If you run a venue and want something corrected, email marketing@wheretooapp.com.
8. Paid features
At launch Where2 is free. If we introduce paid features (for example Where2 Plus), we'll show the price and what's included before you pay, and payments will be handled through the app store you use under its terms. Nothing you've already created will be taken away because a paid tier exists; some sharing features may be part of a paid tier.
9. Our content and trade marks
The Where2 name, the Buddy character, the app's design, text, software and the way our venue information is organised belong to us or our licensors. You can use them as part of using Where2 normally, and share screenshots and links of your own plans and storybooks. Don't copy, modify, sell or build on them otherwise.
10. Liability and Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or any other law that can't be excluded. Where a guarantee applies and the law allows us to limit our liability, our liability is limited to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.
Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows: Where2 is provided “as is”; we aren't responsible for a venue being closed, full, different from its listing or unsuitable for a dietary or access need, for the acts of guests or venues, or for loss that isn't a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of these terms. Please take the same care you would with any outing: check, book and drive safely.
11. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from the Me screen. Your profile, plans, invites, photos and storybooks are deleted; anonymous usage statistics that can't identify you may be kept. Plans you were a guest on keep your first name and reply for the host. We may close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why unless the law prevents it. Sections 4, 9, 10 and 13 continue to apply after an account ends.
12. Changes to these terms
We'll update these terms as Where2 grows. For changes that matter, we'll ask you to accept the new terms in the app before you continue; for small ones, we'll update the date at the top. The current version is always at wheretooapp.com/terms.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and the courts there have jurisdiction, without taking away any right you have to bring a claim where you live. If something's wrong, please tell us first: most things can be sorted out quickly by email.
